you'll be much happier than with t-type ( Deans) connectors. 

Hint: Make the leads off the battery different lengths to avoide short. 

Make the Male the Pos lead and leave full length. 

Make the Neg lead female and cut 1.5" shorter than pos lead to prevent shorting.
